Suricata: open source network security engine built with Sovereignty in mind?

By: Victor Julien

Suricata is an open source (GPLV2) network security engine built by an international team. In this talk I will explain what Suricata is and how it can help you secure your networks. I will go into how Suricata is organized and funded by a non-profit: the OISF.

I will explain how the history of the project as an independent project now helps position it well for a world where more and more regions and countries care about sovereignty in their tech stacks. I hope to have feedback and discussion about the position of Open Source in general and OISF/Suricata specifically in today’s changing world. Hence the question mark in the title.
