About BSides

Each BSides is a community-driven framework for building events for and by information security community members. The goal is to expand the spectrum of conversation beyond the traditional confines of space and time. It creates opportunities for individuals to both present and participate in an intimate atmosphere that encourages collaboration. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. It is where conversations for the next-big-thing are happening. Our goal is to bring together at least 150 people from the infosec community.

The history of BSides

Security BSides began over 15 years ago as a community-driven alternative to traditional security conferences.
As a space where everyone could share ideas, discoveries, and passion for infosec.

From its first edition in Las Vegas, BSides grew rapidly, with events popping up in cities around the world.
Today, BSides takes place in over 60 countries, connecting thousands of cybersecurity professionals.

In 2025, BSides made its debut in Groningen, the Netherlands — and it was a huge success!

We’re excited to announce that BSides Groningen 2026 is happening on
April 17, 2026, at Kinepolis Groningen.

BSides Groningen will be held on at Kinepolis Groningen. The cinema is located in the”Euroborg” next to the FC Groningen football stadium. With the largest screens in the north, it is the perfect location for talks during BSides Groningen!
