Privacy policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026
This privacy statement explains how Stichting Cyber Friendly, the non-profit foundation that organizes BSides Groningen, handles personal data in connection with this website (bsidesgrunn.org).
In short: this website uses no cookies, no analytics, no tracking and no forms. Nothing is loaded from third parties unless you choose to play a video.
Who is responsible?
Stichting Cyber Friendly (KVK 96113871), Paterswoldseweg 829, 9728 BM Groningen, the Netherlands, is the controller for the processing described in this statement. You can reach us at info@bsidesgrunn.org.
What data do we process, and why?
Visiting this website
This is a static website, hosted by Warpnet, one of our sponsors, which provides the hosting free of charge. When you visit the website, your browser automatically sends technical data to Warpnet’s servers: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the requested page, the referring page and your browser’s user agent. This data is recorded in server logs and is used only to deliver the website, to keep it secure, and to troubleshoot problems (legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website). Warpnet processes this data on our behalf. The logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted. We do not use them to identify or profile visitors.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not place cookies (see our cookie statement). Fonts and images are served from this website itself, so visiting it does not send your data to third parties such as font or analytics providers.
Videos
Some pages contain videos hosted on YouTube. These videos are shown as a preview image and are not loaded until you press play. Only then does your browser connect to YouTube (in privacy-enhanced mode, via youtube-nocookie.com), which processes your data under Google’s privacy policy.
Photos and videos of the event
During BSides Groningen, photos and videos are taken to capture the atmosphere and for promotional purposes. A selection is published on this website and on our social media channels (legal basis: our legitimate interest in reporting on and promoting the event). If you prefer not to be filmed or photographed, please let the crew know when you arrive. If you find a photo of yourself on this website that you would like removed, contact us and we will remove it.
Other services we link to
Talk and workshop submissions for the Call for Papers are handled via Sessionize, and tickets are sold via an external ticketing provider. When you use these services, their own privacy policies apply. The same applies to other websites we link to, such as those of our sponsors and partners.
Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with third parties, except with service providers that process it on our behalf (our hosting provider Warpnet) or when we are legally required to.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against loss and unauthorized access.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have incorrect or incomplete data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict the processing of your data;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- receive your data, or have it transferred to another party (data portability).
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within one month. Exercising your rights is free of charge.
