BSides Groningen is a community-driven cybersecurity conference taking place on April 9, 2027, at Kinepolis in Groningen. We are thrilled to invite passionate speakers to share their insights, experiences, and expertise with an audience eager to explore the cutting edge of security. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or an emerging voice in the field, we welcome submissions on a wide range of topics that spark curiosity, foster learning, and inspire innovation.

The theme of our third edition is The Sky is the Limit: research doesn’t run out, techniques don’t run dry, and there’s no limit to what we can conceive, test, and share. Join us and help make BSides Groningen 2027 the best edition yet!

CFP process

1. CFP submission

  • September 1, 2026: the Call for Papers opens at 12:00 AM.
  • February 1, 2027: the Call for Papers closes at 11:59 PM.
  • Presentations must be delivered in either English (preferred) or Dutch.
  • Travel and accommodation costs are not covered.
  • Submissions deemed to be sales pitches for products/services or marketing campaigns will not be accepted.
  • The employer name and/or logo may appear on two slides only (the introduction/cover slide and the speaker biography slide).

2. CFP review

  • After the CFP closes on February 1, 2027, our review board has about one month to look over and score all submissions.
  • Based on the ratings from our CFP review board, the submissions with the highest scores are put into our first round of acceptance notices.
  • We allow about one week for these submitters to respond. If we cannot get hold of, or hear back from, a submitter, we move down our acceptance list. Circumstances may also arise that prevent a submitter from being able or willing to present at our conference. If this occurs, we again continue down the acceptance list.

3. Accepted speakers

  • Acceptance notices go out over a month ahead of the conference, so you can make any necessary travel arrangements.
  • We will publish the speaker list and talk abstracts, so please let us know if anything has changed (title, abstract, etc.).
  • If you would like someone to come to the conference with you, just send us their information so we can register them.
